Weatherford is among the largest global oil and gas service providers, operating in more than 100 countries and delivering innovative technologies and services for formation evaluation, well construction, completion, stimulation, and production. Employees drive the company’s success at Weatherford where teamwork, team safety and dedication to the mission are priorities. The company has found that the training and dedication of transitioning service members and veterans make them an excellent fit for the organization.

Weatherford’s military recruiting program specializes in targeting veterans from all branches of the service for employment. Its efforts are paying off. There has been a 60% increase in veteran hires since 2012 and the company is working diligently to increase its outreach through this program so it may hire more qualified veteran candidates.
The skillsets and values they developed during their service is directly transferable. Weatherford has found that these candidates have a strong work ethic, enjoy working outdoors in the field, are accustomed to being away from home for durations of time, and most importantly pursue excellence in all they do.
In 2011 Weatherford began development of its U.S. Gulf Coast Military Pilot Program. During this pilot, over 100 veterans were placed in Weatherford jobs. In 2012 the company brought on a military recruiter who helped expand the pilot and increased veteran hires significantly.

As the company took on new contracts in late 2013, the military recruiter connected with Corporate America Supports You (CASY) to fill specific positions throughout Texas and Louisiana. In early 2014, CASY and Weatherford Military Recruitment worked together to place over 30 veterans in three locations within two short months.

Weatherford has established relationships with military transitioning centers across the country that provide the company with access to the most qualified candidates before they reach the job market. The company also attends job fairs, posts to job boards, and is engaged with Battlefields to Oilfields—an organization that specializes in evaluating, training, and placing veterans in the oil and gas industry.

Weatherford makes strong connections with veterans and veteran-centric organizations such as Goodwill Job Connection and Wounded Warrior Project, both of which have honored the company for its outreach efforts. Weatherford’s dedicated military recruiter understands the value of creating veteran-specific recruiting materials for such events.
